Seattle Community Police Commission Ensures Police Accountability and Community Engagement.
The Seattle Community Police Commission (CPC) was established in 2012 to oversee police accountability and became permanent and independent in 2017. Its mission is to engage the community to ensure public confidence in the police accountability system. The CPC consists of 15 commissioners appointed by various entities and focuses on community engagement and providing input on law enforcement policies. Their priorities for 2024 include increasing responsiveness to community concerns, enhancing public trust in police services, and promoting transparency in police contracts to improve relationships between the community and the Seattle Police Department.
